It's the first weekend in October, so that means: General Conference!
And what a great Saturday of conference it has been, and still one more day to go! Not only have I been spiritually fed and emotionally uplifted and brought to tears numerous times (hello!!!! A new temple in the area??? How SUPER AMAZING is that???? And I have honestly felt that half the talks were done just for me, as they really hit home), but I also rearranged my living room and DUSTED! Oh! And I and the girls made cookies (well, baked some pre-made cookie dough) for Super J whilst he was at the Priesthood session. All while holding my darling Miss Q who was getting back at me for making her ride around in her car seat WAY too much yesterday (also a crazy day) and was NOT HAPPY being put down at all, at any time, and wouldn't/didn't take her normal naps today. Hmmmmm. Alrighty then.
Still! It is a banner day here at The Zoo, I just gotta say. I am exhausted, but very pleased overall.
So, as it is late late late, I need to get to bed, but I just wanted to share some of the excitement of the day (probably also very excited that the day is pretty much over, too).

Come One, Come All!!!!
Yeah, so remember when I mentioned that Miss E finds this nursing thing to be sooooo interesting?
Today, while I was upstairs feeding Miss Q in my glider rocker, here comes Miss E with a BASKET full of dolls and Barbies. Please keep in mind that I was semi-dosing (UPDATE: that should be semi-DOZING...sigh) so it took me a bit to realize what was going on...
Miss E: standing right next to the rocking chair, "Hi Mom!"
Miss L: with eyes closed, mumbles something
Miss E: (very quietly) "Look at the Cute Baby. She's eating Momma's Milk." (in a higher pitched voice) "Hello Cute Baby. She's so cute." (pause, shuffle, shuffle) "Say, 'Hello.' This is the baby and she's having her breakfast." (in a higher pitched voice) "Ohhhhhhh, she's so cute! Hi, little baby! Hi!"
Miss L: finally opens her eyes to see a Barbie "petting" Miss Q oh-so-lovingly, with the help of Miss E working the Barbie's plastic arm back and forth.
Miss E: (getting another doll, holding it inches from me and Miss Q, then says, again very quietly) "Oh! It's the New Baby! She's so cute!" (gets a Barbie and the "Oh! It's the New Baby" doll and they start having a very lengthy but quiet conversation about nursing and cute babies).
It was the funniest, weirdest thing, Gentle Reader, I tell you.

Another Day the World Changed
Breathe in (2...3...4) Breathe out (2...3...4...) Repeat.
Miss O has figured out how to turn doorknobs. And the oh so pleasing noise of slamming the door to get it to close tightly so she can turn the doorknob.
Miss O:
1) Open Door
2) Giggle
3) "Bye, Mom!"
4) Ignore me when I ask her to close the door softly, quietly, gently, NOT to close the door
5) SLAM
6) Repeat.
Miss L:
1) Breathe in (2...3...4) Breathe Out (2...3...4...)
2) Repeat.
3) Roll eyes.
4) Repeat.

Auspicious
This was quite a weekend of festivities. Going backwards...
Yesterday, Super J and I celebrated 7 wonderful years of marriage. For anniversary presents, we each got what we wanted: Super J wanted some written goals from me (I HATE setting goals...ugh) for where I see myself in 20 years. Alrighty then. And he gave me a gift I have been asking for, for years: a new toilet seat for our downstairs bathroom. He even installed it and fixed the toilet's wiggly base. Now, Gentle Reader, when you use the facilities in the downstairs bathroom, you no longer feel you are on one of those very unsteady parking lot carnival ride, unstrapped. Very gratifying.
So yeah, those are some pretty sexy gifts, wouldn't you say? Regardless, that 7 year itch has NOTHING on us.
Seriously, I feel very blessed. I love him and it's great to know he loves me, too. :)
I do feel bad for the economic crisis that caused the down to drop 777 points, thus shooting our anniversary date into infamy. Oh well. Now we'll have another reason to remember it.
Also very important to note, as it often eclipses our anniversary:
Yesterday was also Miss A's official birthday. I have party pictures and stories to tell, which will be a post of its own. But until then, Happy Birthday Eldest Daughter. These 6 years have flown, and I sure love you. Thanks for being such a good sport in dealing with first time parenting techniques.
Also being a good sport this weekend: me. Super J's folks came up this weekend. On one hand, it's good to see them because it's been a while. On the other hand, it's good it's been a while to see them. It actually turned out to be a pretty pleasant visit, with the crazies only manifesting (to me, anyway) just before Grandma left and she started asking me about Miss Q getting enough to eat and being healthy and if my "milk" was okay because they had a dog who was nursing puppies and something went very wrong with her milk (!!!!!). I think I said something like, "Okay," and left the room. Other than that, things went pretty well.
Okay, so Miss Q is SHRIEKING in my arms now. Gotta go. Have a great morning!

Cheers to the Chicken Lover in ALL of Us
Miss E came to my room this morning as I was nursing Miss Q and shared the following:"Mom, Miss Q sure is cute. You know, Chicken Lovers think babies are really cute. And Chicken Lovers do NOT throw babies in the garbage. I've stricken that evil rule from all Chicken Lovers. That way, babies don't have to smell stinky garbage. Because Chicken Lovers love babies because they are so cute!"
