4 November = Gratitude

Wellllllll, can I just say that this has been a week of health stuff at the Zoo???! The girls woke up this morning (okay, the oldest 3) with fevers! What???? Yes, thanks to a cold virus. But thankfully most of them were feeling better as bedtime neared. We are just waiting to see what tomorrow morning brings...will the fevers be back? Or just the runny noses? Still, it made for an interesting day.

So, today I'm grateful for:

1. DVDs and the player. Seriously, I needed a break and the lovely LEAP dvd's, with their chirpy Letter Factory, Word Factory and Reading Factory stuff...and maybe even a Math Circus, were such good little substitute teachers for my girls today! Now, granted, they watched some Caillou, too (why does that kid not have hair???), but at least I didn't have over whelming guilt while they watched the LEAP stuff. Why? Because Miss E's kindergarten teacher said it was a great learning tool. Yay!

2. Medicine and chicken soup.

3. Bedtime. Yes. It's sometimes the little things that make me able to continue with the rest of it all. Have you seen this by Hilary Weeks? If not, you should...right here, right now. You won't be sorry.

"My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we 'accentuate the positive.' I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment and endorse virtue and effort."

Okay, I was at one of Hilary's performances when she sang that song, love it and love it. But I don't like the time leading up to bedtime and the many trips out of bed before they are snoozing.
