Little Miss Muffet

I sure love all my girls, and I sure love Miss Q. Every day our little family falls a little more in love with her. Yessiree, she's doing just great. She's starting to be very aware and will look at us with those big, baby gray eyes that she has (though obviously she won't look at the camera when one tries to get a picture of her being aware and looking at you with those big eyes). Those same eyes that still get gooey thanks to those tear ducts that remain closed. Regardless, she's lovely, and only really cries when she wants to be picked up, when she's farted or pooped (or sadly, gassy and can do neither), or she's hungry. She's so good! What a blessing!!!!! I'm so glad she's here, even after our auspicious beginnings.

That being said, she's starting to spit up after she nurses. I'm not 100% sure why she is doing this, and I know she likes it about as much as I do. But spitting up she has started.

Alas, she doesn't ALWAYS spit up, and sometimes she spits up 20ish minutes AFTER she's nursed and successfully burped, so I am often not prepared when she decides to yak. What does this mean?

It means that I probably should rethink my choice to wear a black v-neck top while holding my baby to my chest when she starts making her gurgle sounds because it means that curdled milk will soon be heading south, right through the ol'cleavage, to parts that should (and will) be better left unsaid.

Yes. It is Gross. On so many levels. And I haven't even mentioned the "sweeeeeet" smell of souring curdling milk.

Just wanted to share this little segment of Miss Q's life journey so far this week.

Cute picture - thanks for posting it. And I must say, I LOVE the new "zoo" look. Very fitting.

Hi Laurenda,

I am not sure if you will remember me, but I just came to your web page by chance. Anyway, my name is Laurel and I was in the university ward with you in Missouri. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and see if you wanted to talk sometime. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! I too have chillens and we have 4. I hope to talk with you soon.
